Beyond Shelter

Last year, Doorways provided 679 financial literacy sessions to clients at Doorways.
To end the cycle of family homelessness, families need more than just shelter. They need a host of services to ensure all aspects of their physical, mental, and financial wellbeing are being considered. We provide more than just temporary shelter with an array of holistic services including one-on-one financial literacy coaching and specialized services for children and parents.
Providing Support Beyond Shelter
- HomeStart Supportive Housing Program: Housing and supportive services for families who leave Doorways shelters or find themselves displaced from their housing. Continued services ensure an end to the cycle of family homelessness while promoting self-sufficiency.
- Financial Independence Track: Personal training in budgeting, saving and debt management to help rebuild credit and restore confidence.
- Child-Focused Services: Physical, emotional and social support to help children heal from the traumatic effects of homelessness and domestic violence.
